The game crashed and I got a message from GW - "Hardware Failure Detected" suggesting there's some defect in my HW. This is the first time I have ever seen this, my PC health check shows everything running fine. I do have an EVGA NVidia 8600 GTS but all my other games and applications have no issues.

Is this a known issue with Vista Ultimate 64 Bit? I am running a 4G Readyboost on it too - wonder if that might have spiked? Or is it simply not a good melding of GW with Vista 64Bit?

There are many of us in this forum running Vista x64 - there don't seem to be any extra problems running GW on this OS over any others

Check your GW folder for ArenaNet.log - that will give us a better guess at exactly what failed.

Gw has a built in diagnostic that runs either at start up or during the game. I got this error when I had an overclock on the cpu. It was stable for everything but gw didn't like it for some reason and I backed it down a touch and the error has not come back.

Gw seems to have a pretty die hard system monitor If you have components oced I would back the settings down.
